Olivia Alison, M.S., LCSW
Olivia Alison graduated with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in 2004. She believes in a strengths based holistic approach, with an understanding that all components of ones’ life are interrelated. Olivia draws from several different modalities including: EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Narrative, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Comprehensive Resource Model. She participates in regular continuing education classes, and believes in the importance of using evidence-based practices.

Olivia is known for her kind, empathetic and positive approach and has extensive experience with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, divorce, infidelity, parenting challenges and children with sensory disorders. She has worked in a number of diverse settings including The Boulder County Domestic Violence Shelter, The Presbyterian Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center, Weill Cornell, and for the Department of Social Services.

In her work as a therapist, Olivia focuses on helping her patients reprocess their past, and heal, so they may begin living more fully in the present. She uses a combination of techniques and experiences to guide her patients towards the transformations they are seeking. Patients are left with a stronger sense of self, access to new and more empowering perspectives, self-love and life skills. Patients experience breakthroughs, and are left with positive changes which help them to face life’s challenges moving forward. Olivia is passionate about her work, and strives to leave all of her patients feeling resourced, healed, hopeful and inspired.
